I figured out a way to get to the Blog from here! Yay! It's a slow process, though, so it might not happen real often or be very long posts.
It's early afternoon on Saturday here. We got Austin yesterday afternoon, right after we arrived in Chengdu - we actually went straight to the orphanage from the airport.
After the first day - it's very difficult. The little guy is pretty closed off. It's hard to get him to engage with us. He's got a photobook from the orphanage, and all he wants to do is sit by himself and look through it, or look out the window. He is not, right now, a very happy child.
But we'll keep working on it. It's just going to take some time.
LOVE that picture! You're right, it's going to take some time. Remember how long Jasper took to adjust to her new family and home? Be patient. This is normal. Miss you all, and can't wait to meet Austin!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree...but you know he'll adjust and be just fine. Obviously he's not been looking forward to meeting you like you've been excited to meet him. We are all SO happy for all 4 of you...and very proud to. You are wonderful parents, he'll learn that. Ok...so now I'm going to cry...you done good little brother(and big sister...HaHa)Now I'm laughing!!
