Sorry about not updating the blog yesterday. Have been finding other things to do than get on the computer. :)
Everything's getting better, but we're still constantly testing each other's patience. I'm sure he doesn't understand why we keep telling him to quit playing with the light switches any more than we understand why he's always playing with the light switches. Also, although he can speak (Chinese, of course, but he can speak), he's got this whine that he does when things aren't going the way he wants them to. And when he gets really upset, he spits up.
Still, things are getting better and those kinds of incidents are becoming more rare every day. Also, we're getting eye contact from him quite a bit more, too. He's starting to repeat some of the things we say, and he's understanding a lot of what we tell him even though we're speaking English - the stuff we've repeated over and over, anyway.
Remember when I said he's very independent? Well, he had a bit of a bloody nose this afternoon, and before we even knew he was bleeding, he was in the bathroom shoving toilet paper up his nose. I hope he figures out soon that he doesn't have to completely take care of himself anymore, that he's got a mommy and daddy and big sister to help him.
Tomorrow we go to civil affairs to finalize the adoption. I remember how much Jasper disliked having her foot stamped in ink when we adopted her - it'll be interesting to see how Austin handles it.

Oh my! It sounds like Austin is a very normal and active three-almost-four-year-old! I can't wait to meet him! We were just around an 18-month old yesterday, and his mom was saying how she misses his newborn phase, and his dad said that he likes his current age, because he can actually interact with him. So, although Austin is more independent than a newborn, I'm sure you wish he would sleep like a newborn so that you could get some rest!! I'm sure you already know, but we will be happy to take Austin and Jasper once in a while when you return. Or even just Austin if Jasper needs a little break, too!
